The time has come for the Montana State University-Northern rodeo teams to compete in the grand finale of spring rodeos.
The Lights and Skylights will travel to Great Falls this weekend for the Big Sky Regional Finals Rodeo. The Big Sky Region will crown their champions this weekend at the Four Seasons Arena Friday and Saturday.
MSU-Northern's men's team is currently in fourth place in the region while the women's team holds on to sixth place.
The men's team is being led by Tate Benson adding points to his tie-down roping standings with a solid run in Missoula last weekend placing him in the top 10. Benson also came away with the long round win in the team roping with partner Tucker Hould. Zane Marcenko rounded out Northern's team points with a top-10 finish in the steer wrestling.
The women were led by Tara Stimpson who placed second in the long round of barrel racing with a fast time of 17.60 at last weekend's University of Montana Rodeo in Missoula.
The Lights and Skylights will conclude their 2016-17 rodeo season this weekend in Great Falls. The Big Sky Region Rodeo, hosted by UGF, will start each night at 7 p.m. inside the Four Seasons Arena.
