A great time to give Havre a spring clean sweep
From the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce
It’s time to say goodbye to the winter grime and hello to spring. The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging all business and property owners, clubs and organizations, schools and community members, everyone, to join in the spring community clean up, Havre Pride — Townwide, to make Havre sparkle.
“Can you help? You bet! Just an hour of your time can make a BIG difference,” said Joe Ross, Havre Chamber Board president. “Coming out of winter, spring cleaning our town is a must-do. A clean community shows our pride and is more inviting to visitors, than a community with dirty streets and sidewalks, and litter scattered around.”
Everyone is asked to take some time to clean up around the whole community, including the ditches and byways that are entrances to the town. The Havre Chamber is encouraging all business to participate in the week-long event, May 15-20. The community cleanup project, Havre Pride — Townwide is now a weeklong project, this allowing everyone a chance to pitch in.
Saturdays are busy for everyone — thus expanding it to a week, gives everyone a chance to give a helping hand during the week, after work or school, a Chamber press release said. Saturday cleanup will still have its focus between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Dumpsters will be placed at the Fifth Avenue and First Street parking lot and at Zip Trip in Highland Park for the week making disposal of trash collected by those working during the week after school or work. Trash bags will be available at the Chamber office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
So bring your brooms, rakes, gloves and cleaners and show your Havre Havre Pride — Townwide.
Recycling has become a big part of the Havre Pride campaign. The Chamber continues to partner with Recycle Hi-Line and their many partners on their recycling efforts by joining them May 20 with the Havre Pride — Townwide community clean-up efforts. Recycling bins will be located at Pacific Steel & Recycling from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The Chamber asks people to help take Havre Pride to the next level along with the many community partners
The volunteers who join in the effort are the key to the success of the project.
“Many helping hands will help to make this much-needed spring cleanup much easier,” said Debbie Vandeberg, executive director of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce.
