Skylights add former Browning standout

The 2017 recruiting class for the Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team is becoming a stellar one. And Northern head coach Chris Mouat added to it last week.

Mouat announced the signing of former Browning star forward Tiara Gilham to an NAIA national letter of intent. Gilham is transferring to Northern after redshirting at UM-Western this past season.

“We are excited to have Tiara join our program," Mouat said. "She is very skilled and can play a number of positions on the floor. She has the ability to score from everywhere on the floor and has great court vision and awareness."

Gilham, a 5-11 forward, was a four-time All-Conference selection and three-time All-State performer at Browning. During her senior season, Gilham was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Eastern A Super Divisional Tournament. Browning went on to finish third at the 2015 State A Tournament.

Gilham was also named to the Montana-Wyoming All-Star Team. She averaged 13.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and nearly 3 steals per game her senior season. She also shot 72 percent from the free throw line and 43 percent from the field.

Gilham is a 2015 graduate of Browning High School. She is the daughter of Gerald and Jackie Gilham. She plans on majoring in health promotion at MSU-Northern.
