A month hasn't passed since the Montana State University-Northern wrestling team's 2017 NAIA national tournament. But already head coach Tyson Thivierge is hard at work preparing for the future.
Thivierge recently announced the signing of three new recruits to the Class of 2017.
One of the recruits has ties to the Northern program as Andrew Bartel's brother Isaac Bartel will join the Lights wrestling team. He hails from Mason City, Iowa, and of course, comes from an incredible wrestling family. Last month, Bartel won the 195-pound Class 3A Iowa state championship.
Joining Bartel is Ryden Fu of Covington, Washington, a three-time state placer. Fu is projected to wrestle at 149 or 157 pounds.
The third member of the class is Great Falls High product Ryan Moldenhaurer. Competing at 205 pounds, Moldenhauer finished second at the Class AA state tournament last month in Billings. He could be wrestling at 184 or 197 for the Lights.
