Angel Care sets grand opening in new location

Angel Care LLC has moved to a new Fifth Avenue location and will have a grand opening Monday, April 3, with an owner saying she hopes people will come in to learn more about its services.

The hospice care provider that began in August 2016 was initially based out of the District 4 HRDC Building. It now occupies a space between Fifth Avenue Laundry and the office of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce.

Angela McGillivray, Angel Care co-founder, said the grand opening will consist of a 10 a.m blessing of the business and an 11 a.m ribbon cutting. McGillivray said cupcakes from Henny Penny’s and coffee from the Second Street Barista will be served.

McGillivray said she hopes the move will increase Angel Care’s visibility and availability as they seek to double their workforce.

Although they have received a lot of business through word of mouth, McGillivray said, they are now beginning to advertise.

“We are finding now that there is a part of the community that did not know that we are even here,“ McGillivray said.

Angel Care was started by McGillivray and Cory Haberger in August to allow people to receive home care without having to sell their assets. In addition to basic assisted daily living services such as daily home visits and grooming, Angel care can also provide clients with lawn care, snow removal and assorted yard care and home maintenance needs.

Angel Care is a Medicaid waiver program and recently became a veterans administration provider, a status that allows them to be reimbursed by the VA for services provided to military veterans.

McGillivray said Angel Care plans to launch a support group for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She said people interested in taking part in such a group can call the office at 390-1551 to learn more.

Angel Care is also looking to eventually buy a group home for seniors. McGillivray said a group home would allow Angel Care to care for more clients.

“So that’s the long-term goal,” she said.

Services are available to clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Office hours are 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
