Zanto Student of the Month

Marcus Zarco was named a Student of the Month for February at Rocky Boy High School.

The faculty and staff said Marcus models the kind of engaged scholar that teachers would love to have filling up their classrooms. He is a steady and committed student, day in and day out. Marcus is very well-organized and follows through with his work. His positive and open attitude have helped him build his knowledge and investigate new ideas.

He listens well and eagerly shares his thoughts in class discussions. Marcus is willing to take the risk of asking questions to check his understanding. He has the confidence to share connections he is making. Marcus has frequently shown he is willing to go above and beyond in his efforts to progress. He sets goals for himself and then he works hard to meet his goals. In addition to his enthusiastic approach to learning,

Marcus is truly a great guy, his nominator said. He is genuine and upbeat with everyone. He begins every class with a “Good morning” or “Good afternoon” greeting and a smile, and will typically end the day with a comment like “Have a great afternoon!” These may seem like small things, but they are the characteristics of Marcus’s friendliness and his awareness of others. He is a kind and compassionate young man and always willing to be helpful.

For all of these reasons — academic effort, enthusiasm about learning and positive engagement in his school community — Marcus is well-deserving of our Student of the Month honor at Rocky Boy High School for the month of February, his nominator said.

Parker Student of the Month

Rosie Parker also was named a Student of the Month for February at Rocky Boy High School.

Rosie consistently demonstrates our school’s core values of being engaged, respectful and safe in her positive attitudes and actions towards her learning, her school responsibilities and her relationships with peers and teachers, her nominator said.

Rosie takes learning seriously. She works hard to apply what she already knows to the new ideas that she encounters. She takes time to really think about what she is learning. She asks questions when she needs clarification or further explanation of a concept. She is a talented writer, is organized and careful about her work and always produces thorough, neatly completed assignments.

Rosie keeps up-to-date with homework and class assignments and never complains about the work she has to do. Rosie is a very impressive student who has maintained a high level of academic achievement during her high school career. She is a loyal friend and treats her peers and teachers with kindness and respect. She is a very trustworthy and sincere individual who is well liked by all.

For all of these reasons, her nominator believe that Rosie should be recognized and honored for her actions, attitudes and accomplishments. She is a great person, a fantastic student and a wonderful role model for all of us at Rocky Boy High School, her nominator said.
