Havre High lists students of the month

Havre High School announced Marca Herron was chosen as one of Havre High's February 2017 students of the month.

Marca is the daughter of Tim and Lori Herron. Her siblings are Kacy, 28, Josi, 25, and Molly, 20.

Marca participates in basketball, tennis, student council, Pep Club, and ReAct. Outside of school, she said, she enjoys working on her family's ranch and doing almost anything outdoors.

Luke Thompson nominated Marca based on her performance in his classroom, saying she is "a standout students who works very hard in class." He said he has appreciated Marca's willingness to help others in the classroom as well as her ability to stay on task and exemplify a good work ethic.

In the future, Marca plans to the University of Great Falls to play basketball and major in biology.

Havre High's other February Student of the Month is Nate Korb.

Nate is the son of Dan and Jodi Korb.

Nate is a senior at Havre High School and has participated in football, basketball and tennis. He is a member of the National Honor Society and works for his dad at Korb Construction. His hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing and hanging out with his friends and family.

Nate was nominated by Heather Haney, who said, "Nate is a hard worker, has a positive attitude and is a joy to have in class." He makes up his work when he is absent for extra-curricular activities and is not afraid to ask for help when it is needed, she said, and he is kind to his classmates and is a great role model for the school's underclassmen.

Nate plans to attend Montana Tech in Butte to play football and study engineering or construction management.
