The 68th annual Montana Seed Show in Harlem will begin Thursday morning at 9 and conclude Saturday evening with a banquet that will feature country pop singer Casi Joy and a cooked pig.
The pig, show chairman Paul Rasmussen said, is his, and the cooking will be handled by local Dusty Schuhmacher.
The show has come a long way, Rasmussen said, from the first days when it began as a potato seed show. As time went on, a wool show was added, a quilt show, a pie and bread show, a car show, an art auction, and more.
“There’s something for everyone,” he said.
Other highlights included during the three days will be woodworking judging; educational and commercial booths, blood screenings and a health fair, a pancake supper and a kids activity day.
Rasmussen said 70 different vendors from all over the state are expected to be there and it is an event the town looks forward to every year.
For those who can only make it out for one of the three days, Rasmussen said, Saturday would probably be the best one. The banquet starts at 7 p.m. and the fresh-cooked pig, which will have been cooking all day, will be served.
Aside from the banquet, there is no price of admission. The entry price for the banquet is $25.
“We hope to see everyone out,” Rasmussen said.
