Correction for Feb. 24, 2017

An editorial in the Feb. 24 edition of the Havre Daily News about Montana Republican Party Chair Rep. Jeff Essmann, R-Billings, sending out an email opposing using a mail ballot in the election to fill the seat formerly held by Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke misstated that the Republicans had held the Montana governor’s office for 20 years before the Democrats won the election in 2004. The Republicans held the office for 16 years previous to that election.
