Rocky Boy school librarian Marj Sheehy talks to Cinnamon Parisian during Rocky Boy Elementary School's celebration of I Love to Read Month held through February. Rocky Boy students read 3,381 books read in the month of February at Rocky Boy Elementary School. The celebration Wednesday was for reaching and passing their goal of 3,000 books. Sheehy started I Love to Read at the school seven years ago. Each year the students have been reaching their reading goals. In 2016 they passed their goal by reading 2,820 books. Sheehy motivates the students by setting a theme, this year's theme was "Read and Be Happy." Rewards are given to those students who stand out or make great advancements. Sheehy said, "The biggest reward is seeing these kids accomplish a huge goal." This year, kindergartner Parisian read 108 books. Her classmates, altogether, read 955 books.
