People watch model cars reaching upward of an estimated 100 miles per hour Saturday during the Havre Girl Scout's first-ever Pinewood Derby at Saint Jude Parish Center. Troop Leader Sherri Simonson said the event was going very well. "We had 31 scouts entered and 13 siblings entered in the free event." Alexis, a Girl Scout Daisy, was the over-all winner and one of the youngest girls entering. Junior Troop 3223 provided tacos in a bag for sale at the event with proceeds going to Troops 3223 project of donating birthday packages to the Havre Food Bank. Troop Leader Christina Marsh said the packages will be put together by the girls and include cake mix, candles and a birthday card.
