Hello God, it's me, Mara

Footprints

You know, Lord, winter is still here. Sharon Hinck in “Mornings With Jesus” recounted thoughts regarding Psalm 77:19.  She must have looked out my window. After the fresh snowfall the other day, there’s no activity. This morning the world is pretty much blanketed and seems to be at a total standstill.  A casual glance reveals only a frozen emptiness. Nothing stirs, not even cars or buses. The world, at this moment, is simply silent.

A glance at the snow under the tree in the front yard shows tracks that weave all around the front and side yards; deer tracks for sure, checking if there are any crabapples left for munching; maybe bunny rabbit’s tracks, too.

Sharon shared, “You know Lord; there are times in our lives when we feel like a barren snowscape. We might think that we didn’t get much done today. We might be tempted to doubt if we’d been of any use at all to You, Lord. We might even feel frustrated by prayers that to us seem unanswered. But we need to pause and remember that You, Lord, are always present and active in the lives of the believer. We only need to take a few moments to remember the special times when we know that You were at work in our lives.

“A group of us gather and share the scenes of You leading us, protecting us and using our lives to share Your love with others. Memories help us stand in faith. We’ll look back on today and see Your grace-filled footprints all over our live.”

Psalm 77:19 (NIV), Your path led through the sea, Your way through the mighty waters, though Your footprints were not seen.

Thank You, Lord, even if we don’t see Your footprints, we know that You are ever with us.

Love, Mara
