U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., will speak about rural economic development at Bear Paw Development Corp.'s Annual Meeting Luncheon Thursday, Feb. 23, a press release from Bear Paw Development said today.
“Bear Paw Development has always had a strong, productive relationship with our federal partners, including Montana’s congressional delegation, and we’re pleased that Sen. Daines will be joining us as we celebrate the culmination of another successful year of working to meet the economic and community development needs of northern Montana,” Paul Tuss, executive director of Bear Paw, said in the release.
Daines, who was elected to the Senate in 2014 after spending two years as a U.S. representative, will give the meeting’s keynote address, “Job Creation and Economic Growth in Rural Montana.”
Tuss said in the release that the meeting luncheon will also be used to showcase Bear Paw’s 2016 annual report, which will touch on individual projects from throughout the year and the cumulative work of its eight economic and community development practitioners.
“We had another good year in 2016 as we partnered with private industry and the public sector to help create jobs, build infrastructure and promote entrepreneurial success,” Tuss added.
The meeting luncheon will take place at noon Thursday at the Havre Inn and Suites at 1425 Highway 2 West of Havre. Cost of admission is $15 per person.
