The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team played their final two road games of the 2017 regular season this past weekend, and, they lost a pair of tough games to the Bozeman Ice Dogs.
Saturday night, Bozeman defeated Havre 10-6. Offensively, Havre had 21 shots on goal, with Nic Stump scoring in the first period on an assist from Ethan Roberts. In the second, Jeffrey Ralph netted a goal on an assist from Cole Hanson and Stump scored on a pass from Donovan McLain. Havre added three more in the third, two by way of Hanson on assists from August Eacker, while Kyle Kirkpatrick scored an unassisted goal.
Between the pipes, Havre’s Kinzee Peterson stopped 23 of 33 Bozeman shots in the game.
The two teams met again Sunday, and while the Ice Hawks fought hard, the Ice Dogs prevailed 6-3. Peterson was outstanding in goal, stopping 40 of 46 Bozeman shots.
Offensively, Havre was efficient, scoring three times on 20 shots. In the second period, Roberts scored on an unassisted goal, and he did the same in the third. He also assisted on Hanson’s third-period goal.
The Ice Hawks will be off until Feb. 25 when they host Glasgow for two final regular season games at the Havre Ice Dome. The Ice Hawks will also host the State B Tournament March 3-5 at the Havre Ice Dome.
