Christian endeavor scholarships available

The Montana Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will again award ESTARL Scholarships.

These scholarships range in amounts from $500 to $2,000.

The awards are available to deserving college students at the sophomore level or above. The students must be preparing for Christian service as ministers, missionaries, music ministry or other specialized fields of Christian endeavor.

Applicants must be residents of Montana and must be sponsored by a Montana Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. It is not necessary for applicants to be of Masonic backgrounds.

Former applicants are urged to reapply whether or not they were a former recipient of this award.

Application forms are available from a sponsoring Chapter. In Havre, the local chapter is Havre Chapter # 30. Applications are available by contacting Havre Chapter # 30’s secretary, Pauline Petersen at 262-9341. If no one answers, people can leave a message.

All forms and supporting material must be returned to Worthy Matron Sheila Neuwerth or Secretary Pauline Petersen no later than April 10. Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered.

Certificates of award will be presented to the successful applicants or a representative member of the sponsoring Chapter during the Wednesday evening Vesper Services to be held June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Radison Hotel, 5500 Midland Rd., in Billings.

The word ESTARL stands for Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership.
