American Legion offers vets transportation

The American Legion Post 67 has received a grant to provide transportation services for Veterans living in Chouteau, Hill, and Blaine counties.

This transportation service is free of charge to veterans, however, the service is only for VA or VA-referred medical appointments.

Water meters updated, replaced

The City of Havre Public Works and Water Departments will be updating and replacing water meters in certain areas of town for the next few months.

People who are contacted to have their water meter replaced and have any questions can contact the Public Works Department at 265-4941.

Call for Wool Fleece Show entries

Sheep producers are encouraged to select fleeces to enter in the Wool Fleece Show, which will be held in conjunction with the Montana Seed Show in Harlem.

The fleece competition is set for Thursday, March 9, in the Harlem High School Auditorium.

Entries will be taken between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day, and judging will begin at 1 p.m.

The show has both youth and adult divisions with 21 categories in both divisions. Ribbons will be awarded in all categories and a $100 prize will be given to both adult and youth in purebred and commercial divisions.

In addition to the judge’s comment sheets attached to each entry, the judge can answer questions from spectators during the judging process, so people are welcome to come watch and learn. Tyler Lane, Extension agent from Fort Benton, will be the judge.
