U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., sixth from left, poses for a photograph with five Havre High School juniors and their advisor and chaperones in Washington. The students traveled to Washington through the Close Up Program, which empowers young people to participate in democracy. The group discussed a wide range of topics, including making higher education more affordable, investing in Montana's infrastructure and the changes that will come with a new administration. Tester encouraged the group to get involved in civics early, whether at their school or in their communities.
