The Fort Belknap Indian Reservation’s second annual Meth Symposium which had been scheduled for today has been postponed.
Miranda Crasco Kirk, a founder of the Aaniiih Nakoda Anti-Drug Movement, said in a Facebook message Thursday night that the event has been rescheduled.
The change was made because some tribal leaders had other pressing engagements and couldn’t make it to the symposium. Kirk said she and another organizer felt it was important that those leaders be at the event, so they rescheduled it to a time that fit them and most of their presenters.
“A lot of people are on travel these past few weeks and the only date that works where the most people can commit is Thursday the 26th,” Kirk said.
The symposium will take place at 8 a.m in the Cultural Center at Aaniiih Nakoda College and is free and open to the public.
