Winter weather advisory issued for Blaine, Chouteau, Hill and Liberty counties

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a winter weather advisory for Blaine, Chouteau, Hill, and Liberty counties that will go into effect at 11 p.m and last until noon Monday.

The advisory also includes Beaverhead, Broadwater, Cascade, Fergus, Gallatin, Jefferson, Judith Basin, Lewis and Clark, Madison, Meagher, Pondera, Teton and Toole counties.

A cold front will move south from Canada and across the border after midnight, bringing gusty winds and temperatures that will fall below zero by Sunday night.

Snow will develop tonight, continue through Sunday and taper off Monday morning, with 3 to 6 inches expected and as much as 12 inches in some mountain areas. Northern winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected.

The National Weather Service says snow could result in limited visibility and slippery roads, and urge drivers to exercise caution.
