Commission invites public to LaVoi farewell party

The Hill County Commissioners have invited the public to a farewell party for Commissioner Jeff LaVoi Thursday, Dec. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hill County Courthouse.

LaVoi was elected commissioner in 2010 as an independent. He did not run for re-election this year.

Republican Diane McLean won the race to take over LaVoi’s seat on the commission.

VA representatives in area

Steve Mulonet or Judy Loendorf, service officers for Montana Veteran Affairs Division, will be at the Rocky Boy Veterans Center, Jan. 6, 10 a.m. to noon.

People who would like to apply for benefits with the VA can meet with a service officer at one of the scheduled times. Bring a copy of discharge/separation papers.

If bad weather exists on days of travel, people can check with the newspaper and radio stations for updated information regarding the outreach schedule.
