Ice Hawks make home debut

The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team makes its home debut this weekend. But, before the Ice Hawks get to home ice, they had to travel to snowy Butte for a pair of games.

The Ice Hawks dropped a pair of road games against the Copper City Miners this weekend, but the second affair was a thriller.

Sunday morning, the Hawks dropped a heart breaker to the Miners 6-5, with Kinzee Peterson having a strong game between the pipes with 39 saves. Offensively, Clifford Lenhardt scored twice and added an assist, while Jeffrey Ralph started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first period. Nic Stump added one of four Havre goals in the third, while Bay Merker also scored, and Ethan Roberts finished with two assists.

Saturday night, Havre was shut out by the Miners 7-0.

Now, the Ice Hawks will make their home debut with two games against Missoula at the Havre Ice Dome. The first game will be Saturday night, with the rematch Sunday morning.
