Proceeds benefit Police Protective Association activities
Tickets for the April 11 Collin Raye concert in Havre, which is being put on by the Havre Police Protective Association, have gone on sale and can be bought at the Havre police department or Norman’s Ranch and Sportwear for $36.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in Montana State University- Northern Gymnasium. A total of 1,500 tickets will be available for sale.
Sgt. Ryan Pearson of the Havre Police Department, who helped coordinate the event, said the concert is the HPPA’s way of giving back to the community.
The money from the tickets will go to supporting charitable projects such as the Giving Tree and Shop with a Cop.
The protective association Facebook page says its goal is to fund projects and scholarships to benefit the children of the community and to help police officers and their families during times of crisis.
Raye is an American country music singer who has charted 30 singles on the U.S. country charts between 1991 and 2007. The opening act for April’s concert is Thom Bresh, a country music singer, guitar virtuoso and the biological son of Merle Travis.
This is probably the first time Raye will be in Havre, Pearson said.
Pearson said these concerts have been going on for as long as he’s been with the department, and longer, at least 20 years.
Last year’s act was the Bellamy Brothers minus one brother. David Bellamy performed without his brother, Homer Bellamy.
“It was a really good concert,” Pearson said. “This year, we’re looking forward to Collin Raye.”
