Blanchards win Plant A Seed ... READ! photo contest

Perhaps, once upon a time, Arabelle Blanchard will recall her sister, Paisley, reading aloud to her.

The Blanchard family was selected as the Plant a Seed ... READ! 2017 Ambassador Family. 

Their winning captioned photo of Paisley reading to Arabelle will be used in a variety of media resources to advocate the importance of reading aloud to children from birth on.

The girls received a bookcase donated by Mike Evans and Cathy Brown of Valley Furniture for the second year.

Second place went to James Harry and his father, Gabe, from Chinook. James will receive a stocking full of iems includomg books. 

The 2018 PASR Photo contest will be held Nov. 1 through 30, 2017. People could start taking pictures now so they are ready.

  Plant a Seed ... READ! raises funds to enroll children in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Imagination Library program is for all children, from birth to age 5, living in Blaine and Hill counties. More than 1,500 children in Hill County and 600 children in Blaine County are eligible to be enrolled. The program is free to the families and people can join Plant a Seed...READ! by sponsoring a child in the Adopt-a-Reader program. A form may be found on the back of the TV guide in Friday's edition of the Havre Daily News or at the Blaine County Library.
