High speed chase ends with two arrests

A high-speed chase on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation Wednesday afternoon ended with two arrests.

The vehicle, a white sedan, had reached speeds of up to 100 mph, Trooper Christopher Baker of Montana Highway Patrol said.

Baker said he was notified of the pursuit at 2:15 p.m. and then set up spike strips on Laredo Road, where he waited. Another MHP cruiser had set up patrol by Box Elder School.

“That was our main goal, was to keep it away from the school,” Baker said.

Baker said the pursuit never went beyond the boundary line of Rocky Boy.

Hill County Sheriff Don Brostrom and a representative from the Chouteau County Sheriff’s Office both confirmed that neither office was called to assist.

There was no word that anyone was hurt during the pursuit, Baker said.

No one from the Rocky Boy Police Department had replied to a request from Havre Daily News with details on the chase or the names of the suspects by printing deadline this morning.
