It was another exciting season of Six-Man football here in the state of Montana and last week, when the postseason awards were distributed for the North Division and across the state, a slew of local players were honored.
In terms of the Six-Man All-State team, there were actually two local selections as the Big Sandy Pioneers saw two of their players make the cut, as senior Laurence Alderdice and junior Weston Alderdice each received All-State honors. The Alderdice brothers, who help Big Sandy contend for the playoffs this season, were both touchdown machines running the ball for the Pioneers, in addition to being standout defensive players.
However, Laurence and Weston Alderdice. who both earned All-Conference honors in the Six-Man North Division, were not the only local players to be recognized. North Star, which finished the season 5-4 after being eliminated by eventual state champion Hot Springs, also had three players named to the All-Conference team.
Dylan Miller, the Knights talented running back earned All-Conference honors after a stellar campaign running the football for North Star. Miller was joined on the All-Conference team by his brother Devon Miller. Both Millers are juniors. They were joined on the team by senior Keevan Borlaug.
North Star tied for the second most players selected in the Six-Man North with three. Valier led all teams with four selections, while Sunburst and Geraldine-Highwood also had three.
Valier also put three players on the Six-Man All-State team in Isaac Ramos, Colton Wheeler and Wacey Running Crane. Sunburst had Jordan Williams and Treyton Pickering make it, while Geraldine-Highwood was represented by Louis Aron and Joey Hale. In addition to both Alderdice brothers making it for Big Sandy, Heart Butte was also represented on the All-State with one representative, Chasen Kipp.
