MDT seeks comment on Highway 87 project north and south of Big Sandy

Montana Department of Transportation has notified the public and is seek comments on a proposal to improve about 16.8 miles of U.S. Highway 87 north and south of Big Sandy in Chouteau County.

The project begins at reference post 72.3 and extends northeast for 16.8 miles ending near Box Elder at reference post 89.1.

Proposed work includes crack sealing and finishing with a full-width seal and cover — chip seal — with upgraded pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to extend the life of the pavement.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
