MSU-Northern Community Orchestra sets holiday extravaganza

The MSU-Northern Community Orchestra is presenting its Holiday Extravaganza featuring some favorite Christmas arrangements made popular by groups like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Manheim Steamroller and the Canadian Brass. 

The orchestra will be joined by two local dance studios, Montana Academy of Dance and The Studio of Dance and Arts, for a live collaboration of music and dance featuring excerpts from the movie “The Polar Express” and classics like “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and excerpts from the “Nutcracker Suite.”  

The free evening of music and dance is set for Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Havre High School auditorium.

People will have an opportunity to help support the Community Orchestra.

Community Thanksgiving service set for Sunday

The Greater Havre Area Ministerial Association will hold a Community Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at Grace Chapel of the Northern Montana Care Center. A pre-service concert will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Participants and guests are asked to bring a canned good to share with the needy in Havre. An offering will be taken and used to meet the needs of Havre residents during the holiday season.

The featured speaker will be Pastor Jamie Stoll, the new associate pastor of the Havre Assembly of God.

Special music will be provided by area church choirs. The Havre Community Alliance Church Puppet Ministry will give an inspirational presentation.
