Obituary: Jerico J. Small

Jerico J. Small, whose Native American name is Thunderbird ( Pi- Yi-Se-W), 24, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at Benefis Hospital.

Wake services will be held starting at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, with funeral services 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Jerico was born to Warren Small Sr. and Althea Gopher Sept. 8, 1992, in Havre. He grew up in Rocky Boy attending elementary and high school. In 2010 Jerico married Jade Saddler.

Jerico enjoyed watching TV whether he was critiquing a movie or cheering for the Broncos, especially for Payton Manning. He also enjoyed cheering for the Stars, cooking and listening to music. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, most of all, his son, Anthony. Jerico was always friendly and loved to tease, allowing him to make friends wherever he went.

Jerico is preceded in death by great-grandfather Paul Small Sr .; grandfathers Paul "Rocky" Small Jr, Emory Small and Thomas Gopher; uncle Joseph Gopher; aunt Elizabeth Gopher Wetsit; father-in-law, Frank Saddler; nephew Kaidynce Evan Small; and friend Fred Bacon.

He is survived by his wife, Jade Saddler; son, Anthony Small; parents, Warren Small Sr. and Althea (Neil LaMere) Gopher; siblings, Jayde (Daniel Nault) Small, Jasmine Small, Warren Small Jr., Cree Small, Ashton Small, Matthew LaMere, Quint Small, and Jordan Healy; grandmothers Lois Gopher and Ann Small; nephew Jaiden Nault; mother-in-law, Lana Saddler; and numerous beloved grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
