Military veterans are being honored in Havre Veterans Day and Saturday with a free movie at the local cinema.
Polson Theatres’ Cottonwood Cinema is teaming up with VetFlicks, BetTix and Randolph Productions to bring the film “Last Man Club” to Havre for two special showings.
The showings, at 1:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, are free to military veterans. Tickets for others attending are $6.
The film follows Capt. John “Eagle Eye” Pennell, a World War II veteran who has learned that his family is going to force him into a retirement home.
That same day, he receives a letter from a former crewmate on a B-17 bomber reminding him of a pact they made to each other in 1941. That letter sends Pennell on a cross-country trip to reunite with his remaining crew and make good on the promise they made to each other decades before.
Along the way, Pennell meets Romy, a sassy young woman on the run from the mob. After a rocky start, she joins with the boys, realizing she needs them as much as they need her.
On the run from life, the heroes are determined to finish their quest at all cost.
“Last Man Club” is a moving, yet often light-hearted and touching, story of true friendship. It is the story of honor and, ultimately, the bond between brothers-at-arms.
“Last Man Club” is 95 minutes long and rated R for some language.
