Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Dylan Miller, North Star Football

Things didn't exactly end well for the North Star Knights in football, as the Knights were blown out in the first round of the Class C Six-Man playoffs last Saturday at Hot Springs. However, it was still a strong season for the Knights, and Dylan Miller was a big reason why. Playing running back, receiver and multiple positions on defense, Miller was stellar from start to finish, including averaging nearly 150 yards of total offense per game. Miller will now turn his attention to basketball, where his Knights are expected to have a good season also.

Kelsey Mathon, Chinook Volleyball

Kelsey Mathon's big senior season continues in volleyball. In helping Chinook win the District 6C East title last week on its home floor, Mathon put up some big numbers. In a semifinal win over CJI, Mathon tallied six kills, 14 assists and three aces. In the championship match win over North Star, she got even better. She tallied nine kills, nine assists, two aces and 25 digs, including match-highs in kills and digs. Mathon is also a standout in basketball and track for the Sugarbeeters.
