Editor,
As the daughter of two parents who served in the Marine Corps, I see firsthand the challenges our veterans are facing across the state. My father was deployed to Iraq following 9/11. When they moved back west, they failed to get the care they needed because of limited health care access in rural areas. Congressman Ryan Zinke has been a champion on legislation to give our heroes easy access to the care they deserve — voting for the VA Accountability Act and Women Veterans Access to Quality Care Act. My father lives every day with what many call, the invisible wounds of war. I am proud of the courage and bravery he demonstrates every day as he continues to learn how to live with his wounds. Zinke understands these wounds as a U.S. Navy SEAL commander himself, and I trust he will continue to fight for the best quality of care for our veterans. As a military family, we have known too many veterans go without adequate treatment and some who have taken their own lives. It's time to make sure that our nation's bravest are taken care of. That's why I'm voting for Ryan Zinke.
