Editor,
Recent letters to the editor accuse Stephanie Hess of not supporting small business. The 2016 NFIB Voting Record shows Stephanie lined up with the NFIB choices which clearly support their mission statement — to defend the right of small business owners.
Annually, I receive a guide from the NFIB called the Voting Record. It reports the state legislators’ voting record in regards to the support of small business. For those who do not know the NFIB is the leading advocate for small business owners, with offices in Washington, D.C., and every state capital. From their website, http://www.nfib.com, they state “Our mission is to defend the right of small business owners to run their businesses without undue government interference and to advance public policies that promote their success. We proudly represent hundreds of thousands of members nationwide from every industry and sector. And we are the only major business organization whose policies and positions are established by the members directly, not by executive staff or the Board of Directors. That’s what makes us credible, widely respected, and effective.”
NFIB and Hess said yes to small business with the following bills: HB 166, HB 396, HB 379, SB 39, SB 171, SB 200 and SB 288.
Please remember to check your facts before going to the polls. Thank you.
