News you can use

Hello God, it's me, Mara: Know

To be on familiar terms with someone for a while, we think we get to know them, right Lord? But then as time goes by, we

find out that there is more than one meaning to that word know. Two fellows chat, Edison says, "Guess what, Burke, I met

your friend Ezek the other day. He said that he knew you! How cool is that?"

Burke smiles and answers, "Yup, I know Ezek - quite a guy, isn't he?"

Edison continues: "He shared a bit about himself, when he was just a little kid. Did you know he milked cows when he was just five years old and that he swam in the creek behind their house out on their farm?"

Burke looked surprised, "No! I never knew that about him - I guess one can know someone but still not KNOW all about them!"

Two gals were chatting about gardens. Sally didn't know a lot about gardens so she said, "Mary, since you're a gardener, I

have a serous question for you."

"Shoot," Mary says, "there isn't much I don't know about gardening."

Sally continues, "You know those two ladies who live across town? One has a garden and the other one helps her now and then. There's a huge horseradish plant in that garden and they really like horseradish! When is the right month to dig up the

roots and is there a trick to making creamy horseradish?'

Mary was speechless for a moment. "Well - I thought I knew everything about gardens since Mom was a great gardener,

but your question is a bit beyond me! I guess one can know and still not KNOW!

The same about if we know You, Lord or KNOW You; reading John 8:19 (NIV); "Then they asked him, "Where is your father?"

"You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also."

Love, Mara
