On Sept. 30, the University of Montana has recently become the very first university in the nation to incorporate battery-powered buses into their transportation system, and it was a huge step toward their goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2020.
These zero-emission buses are paving the way for environmental stewardship within the university system; not only do these buses provide clean transportation, but people are becoming aware of the impacts humans have on the environment.
The need for public transportation in Missoula will not cease anytime soon. I congratulate the University of Montana’s efforts in clean energy and ask the rest of Montana to step it up,
