With the weather taking a turn for the worse, it's almost time to get off the golf course. And the Montana State University-Northern golf teams wrapped up the fall season the last two days in Billings.
Northern played in the season-ending Rocky Mountain College Invitational Sunday through Monday. The tournament was held at Peter Yegen Golf Course.
The Lights finished last in the field, which was composed of all Frontier Conference teams, as well as MSU-Billings. Northern finished with a team total of 1,047 for the 54-hole tourney.
Freshmen Jerod Boles and Jeff Miller paced the Lights, finishing 41st and 47th, respectively. Boles shot rounds of 83-79-73, while Miller shot 84-80-60. Tyler Tharp was next for the Lights with a 52nd-place finish, shooting 97-91-93, while Mason McDunn finished 54th with 95-97-95.
On the women's side, Northern finished 7th with a 764 total over 36 holes. Whitney Bahrns led the Skylights with rounds of 87-90 for 29th place. Summer Kennerly was tied for 32nd with 86-98, while Diana Ball shot 93-104 to finish 35th and Carrigan Jones shot 110-96 to place 38th overall.
The Lights and Skylights will resume their season next April.
