Kinzee Peterson, Havre High Golf

Havre High sophomore Kinzee Peterson shot a personal best round of 103 in the second round of the Class A state golf tournament at the Hamilton Golf Club. But she also got a highlight that few golfers ever get. Peterson recorded a hole-in-one at the Par-3 eighth hole in Hamilton Saturday, something not only rarely happens for any golfer, but is even more rare when it occurs at the state tourney. Peterson also helped the Pony girls to an excellent fifth-place finish.

Austin Jones, Havre High Cross Country

No doubt, the Havre High cross country teams enjoy running at home. And that goes for Blue Pony Austin Jones, who finished eighth at the 2016 Havre Invitational last Saturday at the course on the campus of Montana State University-Northern. Jones finished the race, won by another local standout, Hays-Lodge Pole's Isaiah Runs Above, in 17:37.01. Jones, who has been the leading Blue Pony runner for the last two seasons, earned his fourth Top 20 finish of the fall.
