Fifth Avenue Christian Church to host women's retreat

All area women are invited to attend a nondenominational Ladies Advance Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 4 p.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday. Three meals are included in the $20 preregistration cost, and the $25 at the door. This will be held at Fifth Avenue Christian Church, 2015 Fifth Ave.

The theme is Blessed Hope, from Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

The event is called an "advance" rather than a "retreat" because the motto is "We don't retreat ... we advance."

The main speaker will be Ila McClenahan, Pastoral Care coordinator for Northern Montana Health Care. Workshops will be offered on priorities with Lynnette Bumgardner, hospitality with Kathy Leahy, short-term missions with Aileen Couch and Amy McMullen, prayer with Peggy Giblin and craft with Stephanie Ford. Personal testimonies will be shared by Cadence Younkin, Darcy Zook and Dorothy Williams.
