Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Jacey McDonald, Havre High Volleyball

The first three weeks of the Havre High volleyball season had been a little rough on the Blue Ponies. But, HHS busted out in a three-game sweep last Saturday in Conrad, and senior Jacey McDonald was a big reason why. McDonald, who also plays softball at HHS, wacked seven kills, but also served five aces and had a solo block to help lead the Ponies to victory over the Cowgirls. McDonald, a two-year starter for the Ponies is currently leading them in hitting percentage heading into this weekend's home-opener.

Cory Richter, CJI Football

The Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks lost a heartbreaking, wild 82-74 game to Great Falls Central last Friday night. But, it was a game CJI quarterback Cory Richter will never forget. Richter accounted for 10 total touchdowns, while throwing for 344 yards and six scores. He also rushed for 137 yards and four more TDs. Richter, who also shines on the basketball court for the Hawks, helped CJI amass 700 yards of offense, with TD passes covering 8, 16, 40, 61, 55 and 2 yards in the wild Northern C game played in Chester.
