News you can use
Editor,
The Chamber of Commerce Havre Pride Committee would like to thank those who came out this past Saturday to pick up Havre. As with any project, it takes many to make it work and be successful. There were many community folks out and about Saturday along with groups from the hospital and the college. Thank-you to everyone for a job well done!
A thank-you also goes to our local media teams for getting the word out about Havre Pride and Recycle Hi-Line and to Zip Trip for agreeing to be a Havre Pride dumpster site.
A thank-you goes to the city of Havre for their help in setting up and to the Montana Department of Transportation for trash bags and their help with keeping First Street and Fifth Avenue clean.
The partnership with Recycle Hi-Line has added to the importance of this September Saturday. We thank the Recycle Hi-Line group for moving their recycle day in September to coincide with fall Havre Pride.
Fall is a great time to take another look at our community and do some needed fall “housecleaning.” A clean community shows pride and is more inviting than a community with dirty sidewalks, weeds growing through the cracks and borrows pits scattered with litter.
Havre Pride is a communitywide effort to clean up our town. The goal is to first get the community members working together to clean up our town and second, to educate people on the subject of litter and community pride.
