VFW junior rifle club starting season

The VFW Bear Paw Junior Rifle Club will soon be starting its 206-17 season. Signup will be Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the range in the basement of the Havre Fire Department on Fifth Avenue and Fourth Street for people ages 10 to 21. People should use the door on Fifth Avenue and go down the stairs to find the range.

Shooting will be one hour each week on Monday or Tuesday at 6, 7 or 8 p.m. All equipment is provided except required safety glasses. Prescription glasses are acceptable.

Membership dues are $40 for the season, which runs from September to April.

Each shooter will shoot about one box of shells each night, 50 rounds of .22 Long Rifle standard-velocity shells. Participants can buy them from the club for $5 a box. High-velocity shells are not acceptable.
