Hans Verploegen, 90, passed away due to natural causes Sept. 7, 2016, at the Care & Comfort Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Daniel Wathen officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Hans' name to the charity of the donor's choice.

Hans was born to John and Margarete (Baumann) Verploegen Jan. 15, 1926, and raised on the family homestead at Cottonwood. In 1950, he married Norma Larsen, and the couple farmed north of Havre for many years, moving to Havre in 1997. Norma passed away in 2009.
Hans was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Verploegen; his parents, John and Margarete Verploegen; his brothers, Anton, Paul and Karl Verploegen; his sisters, Elizabeth Pruys and Mary Verploegen; and his grandson, Jerod Verploegen.
He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Hofeldt and Peggy Verploegen, both of Havre; his sons, Donald (Marcia), Pete (Rita), Joe (Vicki) and Russel (Julie) Verploegen, all of Havre; his 19 grandchildren; his 17 great-grandchildren; his sister Hildegaard Verploegen; his brothers, Al (Carol) and Bill Verploegen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
