Tony was born on July 14, 1997, in Kalispell, Montana, to Christian and Dana (Burnell) Herbold. He was raised in Kalispell until he was 10, when the family relocated to Havre, where he has remained since.

Tony was homeschooled by his mom, and just finished his senior year. He was excited to be taking his GED to enter the U.S. Marine Corps, where he planned to make a career of service to his country.

He was an outgoing, gregarious young man, who loved to spend time with his family, especially his brother William with whom he was best friends. He enjoyed collecting unique and old weaponry, and war movies were his favorite. His sense of humor was wicked, and playing practical jokes just made his day. "A good joke is the gift that keeps on giving."

Tony was a high-energy young man who reveled in the outdoors, camping and swimming, and who walked simply everywhere. He loved to tease his siblings, and chat with his older sister, and he absolutely adored his young niece. His favorite comedians were Rodney Carrington, Kevin Hart, and Steven Lynch.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandfather Leonard Herbold, and his great-grandmothers Loretta Burnell and Georgia Frigon.

He is survived by his parents, Dana (John) Vauthier of Havre and Chris Herbold of Kalispell; his sisters, Mary Herbold, Jocelyn and Tehya Vauthier, Alexandra Herbold, Madison Vauthier, and Stormi Perkins, all of Havre; his brothers, William Herbold, Gabriel Vauthier, and Izaak Herbold, all of Havre, and Jeremiah Herbold of Kalispell; his niece Tempest Vauthier; his nephew Kaidence Vauthier; his grandmothers, Janice Sumner and Sally Miller, both of Havre, and Louise Herbold of Kalispell; his godparents, Mark & Melva Herbold of Kalispell; and numerous beloved friends.
