A local man in his early 20s will be arraigned next week on charges alleging he had sexual encounters with underage girls.
Court charging documents say the investigation into Emmett L. Windyboy began in October 2015 after a mother reported that her daughter, who was under 16, was missing. Officers found the daughter and files say it was discovered she had been selling marijuana and “hanging out with older males.”
Officers got permission and the necessary information from the mother to go into the girl’s Facebook account. The officers found sexually explicit messages from Windyboy, who was 22 at the time, to the daughter on her account, documents say.
The officers then obtained a warrant for Windyboy’s Facebook account.
Information on his account showed that, within a span of three years, Windyboy had spoken with 933 females, 97 of whom were younger than 18 at the time, charging documents say.
Of the 97 conversations with girls under 18, documents say 11 of them were sexually explicit, “indicating that an inappropriate relationship or incident existed between Emmett and said person.” Of those 11 sexually explicit conversation with girls under 18, seven of the girls were confirmed to be younger than 16, documents say.
Officers located Windyboy in May and interviewed him.
Documents say Windyboy admitted to getting high on methamphetamine and sending the messages. He said he had sex with a girl who “was 17 or 18 at the time” but said he wasn’t sure what happened between him and a specific 14-year-old girl because he blacked out, the documents say.
He said he read the Facebook messages between him and the 14-year-old the next day and “knew something sexual had happened ,” the documents say.
The 14-year-old girl was interviewed by an officer. In the interview, she described a sexual encounter she had with Windyboy, the documents say. She said she protested his advances but also that something sexual eventually did happen.
Windyboy is charged with four counts of sexual abuse of children, a felony, and is scheduled to appear at his arraignment hearing, where he will plead guilty or not guilty, July 18 at 11 a.m. in state District Court.
An arrest warrant of $10,000 was issued for Windyboy Tuesday.
