Breanna Leake of Kalispell won the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Havre Stay-cation, with her prizes including a stay in a Havre hotel, tickets to several local attractions and prizes from Havre businesses for her and her family.
When told she had won the Havre Chamber’s Tourism Committee contest, which requires a family of four visit at least two of five local attractions through June 30, Lake said she was excited, a Chamber press release says.
“We were there for Living History weekend, and it will be fun to return,” she said.
Her name was drawn Friday from entries submitted at the H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum, Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump, Fort Assinniboine, Havre Beneath the Streets and the High Line Heritage House Museum.
The Chamber release says a vacation trend is to take shorter vacations — such as an extended weekend — more times throughout the summer than the traditional one- or two-week large block of time for a vacation. Travelers also are spending more time staying closer to home on the shorter weekend getaways.
“Thus, the perfect prize — a stay-cation in Havre exploring the wonderful treasures we have right here,” the release says.
To participate, a visitor needed to visit at least two of the five listed attractions, have their registration form signed at each visit and leave the completed form at their last stop.
The stay-cation prize includes a room at the AmericInn in Havre, and tickets for a group of four to Fort Assinniboine, Wahpka Chu’gn Buffalo Jump, Havre Beneath the Streets, the Clack Museum and the High Line Heritage House Museum.
Lake will also receive items and gift cards from Holden’s Hot Wheels, Rod’s Drive-In, Stromberg Sinclair, Town Pump, Subway, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Nalivka’s Original Pizza Kitchen, Herberger’s Department Store, Coffee Hound, 5th Ave Grind, Valley Furniture, Gram’s Ice Cream and Candy Shoppe, Pizza Hut, Holiday Village Mall and Master Sports.
