Following is a list of local Montana students who graduated from Carroll College Saturday, May 14, during the 106th commencement ceremony held in Nelson Stadium on the Carroll College campus. Indicated on this list are the students’ names, hometowns, majors, and honors or distinctions earned.
Chester:
Brandon Thomas Graff, civil engineering
Havre:
Samantha Marie French***, history, with distinction
Christina Marie Mack, nursing
Lauren Nicole Scofield, biochemistry/molecular biology
Hingham:
Taylor Warren, elementary education, with distinction
Rocky Boy:
Sapphire Vee Carter, international relations, honors scholar
To be eligible for graduation honors, a Carroll student must successfully complete an honors thesis and graduate with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.50.
The three levels of honors are cum laude (3.50-3.69), magna cum laude (3.70-3.89), and summa cum laude (3.90-4.0). To be eligible for graduation with distinction, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.50.
Graduates designated as an Honor Scholar have completed the Carroll College Honors Scholars Program. The Honors Scholars Program is a four-year program of study founded on the Great Books tradition. In addition to the requirements of their academic majors and minors, Honors Scholars graduates have completed a sequence of five interdisciplinary seminars where they have explored seminal works from the Western intellectual tradition, and they have completed an honors thesis.
