Havre police looking for Harlem man

Havre police are looking for a man named Chaska Earthboy, 28, of Harlem, for allegedly stealing a computer and impersonating another person.

A Havre man reported to police Sunday that Earthboy had stolen the computer when the two met for a sales transaction.

Havre Police Lt. Aaron Wittmer said Earthboy contacted the man’s daughter later that day via Facebook Messenger after allegedly stealing the computer and offered to sell it to her for $120. Wittmer said there may have also been some messages that were deleted later about including drugs in the transaction. Sunday’s police dispatch log indicates drugs were mentioned in the report made by the caller.

Wittmer said the police later pulled over an Equinox, which was suspected of being connected with the Earthboy theft. Three individuals were in the vehicle, none of whom claimed to be Earthboy. One of them, Megan Lee Dobbs, was arrested for lying about her date of birth — obstructing a peace officer — and on an unrelated Justice or City court warrant.

Wittmer said police later found out that one of the other individuals in the car, who told officers he was Colton Montes, was actually Earthboy. Wittmer said that, when asked for his date of birth and Social Security number, Earthboy allegedly gave information that was consistent with that of Montes’ identity, and officers had no photo evidence at the time to contradict Earthboy’s claim.

Earthboy is wanted for theft and obstructing a peace officer. Anyone with information is asked to call the Havre Police Department at 265-4361 or the Hill County Sheriff’s Office at 265-2512. Those who wish to remain anonymous can also call Havre-Hill Crime Stoppers at 265-4444.

Hill County Detention officials refused to release a photo of the suspect, saying it was considered unnecessary.
