North Stars sweep Chargers at Centene

The Havre North Stars American Legion baseball team traveled to Great Falls Wednesday for a doubleheader against the Great Falls Chargers. And thanks to a solid team effort, the North Stars came away with a two-game sweep.

In back-to-back games within the Northern A District, the Havre North Stars took two games from the Great Falls Chargers, defeating them 7-3 and 5-4.

In the first game, Dylan Carpenter was on the mound for Havre and he earned the victory after limiting Great Falls to just five hits and three runs for the game. Carpenter also had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jerod Boles also had a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while Jake Sedahl had two hits and three RBIs. Jeff Miller also had a double in the win for the North Stars.

In the second game, there was a slight delay due to some weather issues, but it didn't stop Havre from eventually wrapping up the sweep, thanks to a one-run victory. First-year player Kennedy McKay got the win for the North Stars, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring two runs in the top of the first and the second innings.

Sedahl led the way offensively for the North Stars with two hits and an RBI. He also notched a triple. Cole Keller, Miller, Carpenter, and Brendan Garden all had hits in the win.

With the sweep, the North Stars are now 5-6 on the season. They will host the North Star Jamboree this weekend at Legion Field.
