Montana will be holding its primary today for offices ranging from president of the United States to governor, as well as a slew of state legislative and county races.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m to 8 p.m. at 17 locations throughout Hill County.
Those wishing to cast a ballot must show a valid photo ID that has the name and current address of the voter.
The website of the Montana Secretary of State’s office said forms of acceptable ID can include: a driver’s license, voter registration card, bank statement, paycheck, notice of voter registration confirmation or other government document that has the name and current address of the individual.
Some voters in Hill County have opted to forgo the tradition of standing in line at a voting booth, instead choosing to apply for a ballot to be mailed to their address.
As of late Friday afternoon, 3,481 ballots had been issued of which 2,705 had been returned, according to numbers provided by the Clerk and Recorder’s Office by 8 p.m. to be counted.
All ballots must be returned to the Clerk and Recorder’s Office on the first floor of the Hill County Courthouse in Havre.
Those who wish to vote but are not registered can register today at the Clerk and Recorder's Office until 8 p.m., when polling stations close and all votes are counted.
