Daniel Louis Peressini was born on March 20, 1938, in Havre, Montana, to Anthony and Carmela (Granier) Peressini, and died on May 29, 2016, in Helena, Montana, after a long battle with cancer.
Danny's primary and secondary education took place in Havre, after which he studied at Seattle University and received a degree in social work from the University of Utah.
After finishing school, Danny founded and was the initial director of Hilltop Recovery Center in Havre. He subsequently worked as the director of the Department of Institutions in Helena and then as the director of the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center at Montana State Hospital in Galen. Danny also worked at Shodair Hospital in Helena as director of adolescent rehabilitation.
Later, at the age of 55, Danny returned to work on the railroad, an industry in which he worked as a young man and where he was a lifetime member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
In retirement, Danny spent his time fishing for walleye, avidly following business news and becoming a deeply knowledgeable and successful day-trader. Danny was a deacon at Mount Olive Christian Fellowship in Great Falls where he was active in both welcoming newcomers and supporting the everyday business of the church.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Carm, and his son, Paul. He is survived by Janie, his wife of 54 years; his children, Anthony, Celia, Dominic and Benjamin; and his grandchildren, Mason, Conor, Max, Slade, Frankie, Sofia, Sal and Jack.

There will be a memorial service celebrating Papa's life on Sunday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Christian Fellowship in Great Falls.
