Parent of found 2-year-old identified

Nathen Leroy Stuker, 26, of Havre has been identified as the parent of the 2-year-old boy who was found wandering the sidewalk along 5th Avenue Friday morning, and Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich said that, as of Friday, the child had been taken to Child Protective Services.

Matosich said the 2-year-old was found on the sidewalk, in diapers after a caller reported the wandering toddler at 6:21 that morning.

Matosich recalled that Stuker may have indicated that the child got out of the home after opening the door.

The police department reported Friday morning that the baby, when found, was in healthy condition. It took about three hours before officers found out who the parent of the toddler was.

Stuker has been issued a summons on charges of endangering the welfare of children and violations of conditions release.
